About us
We are a small and friendly family business which has been established in Bedford for over 50 years now. The company was originally set up by Denis & Jean Rayner in the early 1950’s solely as a saw sharpening business and over the years it has gradually expanded.
Today, the company is run by brothers Tony and Barry who are both experienced saw doctors and who can offer advice on all aspects of cutting and sharpening requirements. We are committed to ensuring you use the best and most efficient blades for your applications.
Our established sharpening service is on site and as we rarely send anything away, you will always know where your blades are. We sharpen TCT and HSS blades, mitre and planer blades, guillotines, router cutters, chainsaw blades, gardening equipment etc.
We carry a wide range of new tungsten tipped saw blades, high speed steel blades, router cutters, bandsaw blades (which are made up on site) and much more. In our showroom you will find a wide range of woodworking machinery – bandsaws, saw benches, pillar drills, etc.
We also collect & deliver in and around Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. Please call us for details.
Tony and Barry have continued their late father’s keen interest in woodturning and a Woodturning Club has been running successfully for over 10 years now. We supply lathes and accessories, turning tools, wood blanks and Craft Supplies accessories. We also have a lathe workshop and host 10 professional demonstrations each year (See 'Woodturning Page' for details).
